Sabathu

Subathu cantonment is situated at an altitude of 1265m above sea level and about 26kms from Kasauli. A diversion road from Dharampur, leads to Subathuafter around 15kms.It is well known for the ruins of the historical “Gurkha Fort”.  It is also known as the regiment centre for the Gurkha Rifles. The fort was built in the early 19th century when the region was ruled by Gurkhas. The Guga Navmi Festival is celebrated here by the Guga devotees. The mela takes place around a fortnight before the Janmashtami and is attended in huge numbers. Brijeshwar temple is also situated nearby, around 6kms from Subathu.
