The Lawrence School

One of the oldest and most prestigious , , Lawrence School Sanawar was found in 1847 by Sir Henry Lawrence, as an orphanage for children of British Indian army killed in action. Spread over an area of 139 acres surrounded by lush green forests of pine, cedar and oak trees, the school premises comprises of academic blocks, residential hostels, and a beautiful English cathedral. The school is believed to be the oldest co-educational boarding institution in the world. Walking around the campus, visitors can see a mixture of colonial buildings, many of which are over a century old, and the modern facilities which have come up to accommodate the practical needs of the school fraternity.
